Debra MacIntyre joined CanDeal in 2014 as General Counsel & Head of Regulatory Relations, bringing more than 17 years of experiences as a lawyer in the securities industry. Prior to joining CanDeal, Debra was Senior Legal Counsel in the Market Regulation division of the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC), and the chair of the ASC Derivatives Advisory Committee, where she played a central role in leading derivatives reform initiatives. Additionally, she was the ASC representative on the Canadian Securities Administrators’ (CSA) Derivatives Committee, and a member of the national OTC Derivatives Working Group. On the international front, she was the ASC representative on the OTC Derivatives Regulators Forum (ODRF) and the International Organization of Securities Regulators (IOSCO) Committee on Commodity Futures Markets. Prior to joining the ASC, Debra served as Senior Legal Counsel for a major chartered bank and before that, as an associate lawyer at McCarthy Tetrault in the securities regulation and investment products practice group and legal counsel with the Ontario Securities Commission.
